Turner Classic Movies (TCM) has unveiled its list of 10 Most Influential Silent Films in celebration of Michel Hazanavicius' ode to the silent era, The Artist, which won three Golden Globes® Sunday night, including Best Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Actor – Musical or Comedy for Jean Dujardin and Best Original Score. The Artist also picked up 12 British Academy Film Award nominations. The Weinstein Company will expand its release of The Artist nationwide on Friday.read more

TNT has ordered a pilot for L.A. Noir, a new drama series from executive producers Frank Darabont (The Walking Dead, The Shawshank Redemption), Michael De Luca (The Social Network, Moneyball) and Elliot Webb (Tall Time Tales). The project from TNT Original Productions is based on John Buntin’s critically acclaimed book L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America’s Most Seductive City, which chronicles the epic battle between Los Angeles Police Chief William Parker and mobster Mickey Cohen.read more

A number of high-level organizational changes to Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.’s (TBS, Inc.) advertising sales division designed to more closely align and integrate operating functions within each of the sales business units were announced today by David Levy, president of sales, distribution and sports for TBS, Inc. Leading the TBS, Inc. Ad Sales organization will be longtime Turner executive Greg D’Alba, in the newly created position of president, News and Turner Digital Ad Sales, and well-regarded industry executive Donna Speciale will join the company from MediaVest USA as president, Turner Entertainment & Animation Ad Sales. D’Alba and Speciale each will lead a team of senior sales executives who will work across the Turner domestic portfolio of television networks, Web sites and digital platforms.

TNT has given the greenlight to the network's first-ever reality competition series, The Great Escape. The action-packed series comes to TNT from Fox Television Studios, Imagine Entertainment, The Hochberg Ebersol Company and Profiles Television Productions, with Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind),Brian Grazer (24), Francie Calfo (Scoundrels), Elise Doganieri (The Amazing Race), Bertram van Munster (The Amazing Race), Justin Hochberg and Charlie Ebersol serving as executive producers.
